The ABUS Bridge One connects Bluetooth-based security devices to Wi-Fi, enabling secure remote control from anywhere via the ABUS One App
The ABUS BRIDGE One is a technical extension for the ABUS One ecosystem that brings Bluetooth-based ABUS smart home devices into the home Wi-Fi network and thus the internet. Without this bridge, many smart functions are only available within Bluetooth range. With the BRIDGE One, remote access over the internet becomes possible, allowing users to control and manage their connected security solutions from anywhere.
Technically, the bridge establishes a reliable Wi-Fi connection that supports common standards (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and uses encrypted communication. It acts as a bridge between Bluetooth-enabled end devices and the IP-based network, enabling not only remote control but also integration into existing smart home infrastructures, including voice assistants and smart automation routines.
Implementing this bridge functionality was a technical challenge for Forsit, as it required seamlessly connecting multiple protocols (Bluetooth and Wi-Fi) through app-controlled logic. It demanded a robust backend architecture to orchestrate device communication in a stable, secure and high-performance manner. At the same time, the solution had to be designed for seamless integration into any existing smart home setup, including authentication, encryption and event-based notifications.
"Thinking with us was fun" - for me almost a characteristic slogan for the cooperation with Forsit. A committed team of experts with a great willingness and ability to perform. Thinking for the customer is not just a slogan here, it is lived practice.
