The internationalisation of placetel.de together with design agency SEVN was not a mere translation project, but a structural realignment of the web platform with a focus on multi-country capability, editorial flexibility and clean release organisation. The goal was to use a new CMS – based on Kirby – to create a technical foundation that maps different country requirements consistently and maintainably.

A central challenge was the clean separation and controllability of country-specific content. The UK and FR sites illustrate that elements such as video stills, logos, backgrounds and texts could not simply be copied, but had to be individually controllable per country.

In parallel, performance and quality aspects were addressed: optimisation of image loading times, fixes to sliders, resolution of mobile display issues. Formal details such as consistent footer texts were also resolved systemically.

The project was also characterised by tightly scheduled release management. There were clearly prioritised topic lists, defined deadlines for releases and iterative pushes in close coordination with design agency SEVN and Cisco/Placetel.
